ABOUT Westshore Young Leaders

OUR MISSION
Expanding Student potential through training, education and drug free events & activities.

In the summer of 2010, Westshore Enforcement Bureau (WEB), received stimulus funding from the State of Ohio. This grant was used to establish the Westshore Young Leaders Network comprised of middle and high school students from WEB’s six service communities: Bay Village, Fairview Park, Lakewood, North Olmsted, Rocky River and Westlake. Since 1975, WEB has provided drug and alcohol prevention services through a broad range of community presentations. WEB is heralded as a model drug task force in Ohio.

“Students at Westlake High School have benefited from a long standing partnership with the Westshore Young Leaders Network.  Young Leaders provided opportunities for leadership training, peer prevention and social events.  The annual lock ins and SADD Days at the Q gave our students the chance to reach out to schools from other districts and to share evidence-based alcohol and other drug prevention classroom activities. The resources that the Young Leaders provide have been essential to the growth and development of our students who seek out opportunities for leadership.  These skills will serve our kids well into their adult lives. ”  Ms. McGinty, Westlake High School

“…Westshore young leaders membership has given me opportunities to meet some amazing people throughout this program all due to the team’s creative ideas to bring students together to avoid the use of substances.”  Marlina Rocky River High School Graduate

“…The information about drug and alcohol awareness that I gained through the WYLNetwork and was able to share with my friends and peers will, NO DOUBT, make a huge difference in my community and far beyond…  Tess Lakewood High School Graduate
